Perhaps as Thailand’s most popular party destination, Phuket has no dearth of spas, resorts and fantastic food. Here’s a few must do’s for vegetarian foodies over a weekend in Phuket.

RayaRaya Phuket, Old town

The charm of Raya overtakes you right at its doorstep. An old colonial Sino Portuguese mansion beautifully preserved & now transformed to an extremely popular Thai restaurant that serves authentic treats. The food is simple & flavorful with no pretense that makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Given the popularity at Raya, service is brisk and your food arrives way sooner than you expected. Smack in the middle of bustling Patong, Home Dining is one of the most popular and inexpensive restaurants for a hearty lunch or dinner. Ravenous after our long drive from the airport, Home dining was a 3 minute walk from our hotel. Run by a Singaporean, the café serves local Thai as well as quite a few vegetarian dishes and fresh juices. The staff is very friendly and we even got a free fruit salad at the end of our meal.

Vacation in Phuket isn’t complete without a visit to one of the lovely beach clubs. Sun, sand, sea, surf and scrumptious eats sum up an afternoon by the beach. Catch has an array of Mediterranean Tapas and Starters, Japanese dishes, Salads, Pizzas and some good ol’ Thai. The Coconut coolers are a must especially on a sunny afternoon.
