Healthy Aloo Mutter Tikki + Spicy Tomato Chutney (Potatoes & Baby Peas Patties)
This recipe makes 15 patties
Ingredients
- 1 kg white potatoes
- 200g baby peas
- 1 red onion finely chopped
- 2 green chilies finely chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic Paste
- 1 tbsp Garam Masala
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Fresh coriander finely chopped
- Salt to taste
- Instant oats to coat
- Steam the potatoes and baby peas in a pressure cooker
- In a large bowl combine the finely chopped onions, ginger garlic paste, green chilies, fresh coriander , turmeric and cumin powder
- Mash the potatoes and baby peas and combine with the above mixture.
- Sprinkle the garam masala and salt to taste
- Make small round patties and coat with instant oats to keep together. The oats are a good replacement for bread crumbs and will give the patties a crunchy bite
- Heat a flat pan and spray olive oil.
- Shallow fry the patties on each side until golden brown.
- Serve hot with tomato chutney.
Ingredients
- 4 Large Tomatoes
- 2 green chilies
- Few sprigs of sweet basil, coriander
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1tbsp chopped garlic
- 1 tbsp tamarind paste
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp Red chili powder (Kashmir Chili for a bright Red Color)
Method
- Blitz the tomatoes, chilies and herbs in a food processor.
- In a sauce pan, heat olive oil and fry chopped onions, garlic and cumin powder till golden brown.
- Add the tomato herb mixture, tamarind paste and cook for 20 minutes till all the water from the tomatoes has evaporated.
- Stir in chili powder and salt to taste.
- Serve as an accompaniment.
